Work Package 4 (WP4) of UNITED4Surveillance aims to establish and strengthen partnerships in a One Health approach, emphasizing structured data sharing for effective public health surveillance. It is organized around three disease groups: foodborne diseases, zoonotic influenza, and vector-borne diseases.
WP4 organises a series of three webinars in 2025 on each of the disease groups (zoonotic influenza, vector borne diseases and foodborne diseases). All webinars will become available in the course catalogue of the ECDC learning portal.
The first webinar was held on March 17 about the Zoonotic influenza pilots. In the webinar on zoonotic influenza speakers from Austria, Belgium, Denmark and Norway reflected on their pilot projects that aimed to set up a One Health surveillance system for zoonotic influenza. The objective of this webinar was to share encountered challenges and lessons learnt from the pilots. If you would like to (re-)watch this webinar, it is now open for enrollment on the ECDC learning portal.
The second webinar on Vector borne infections was held on April 23. In this webinar speakers from Austria and Spain reflected on their pilot projects within UNITED4Surveillance. The objective of this webinar was to disseminate information on the lessons learned in setting up and maintaining West Nile virus (WNV) One Health surveillance in Europe from the perspective of two different countries where this is an emerging or an endemic disease. If you would like to (re-)watch this webinar, it is now open for enrollment on the ECDC learning portal.
The last webinar on Foodborne diseases was held on 27 May. During this webinar speakers from Belgium and Italy reflected on their pilot projects within UNITED4Surveillance and shared experiences in setting up/adapting One Health surveillance for Salmonella and Shiga Toxin-producing E. coli, respectively. The webinar is now open for enrollment on the ECDC learning portal if you would like to (re-)watch this webinar.
