Within WP4 all participating member states held national workshops on goal descriptions, stakeholder
analysis, and systems mapping.
On September 29 Sciensano coordinated their national workshop about zoonotic influenza and salmonella surveillance in Belgium. For zoonotic influenza the main aim was to brainstorm on a sustainable surveillance system to detect human cases of animal influenza among workers who might be at risk of exposure. For Salmonellosis the aim was to identify concrete actions that could be carried out in 2024 to further improve surveillance across sectors e.g. common use of WGS on human and non-human isolates, access to strains from food operators, more exposure/metadata on human cases to enhance outbreak investigation and source attribution.
