UNITED4Surveillance was represented by multiple Work Package (co-)leaders at the Inception Conference for Direct Grants to Improve National Surveillance Systems, organised by the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Health and Food Safety (DG SANTE).
During the two-day event, 23 EU Member States presented their projects (Direct Grants) to improve national health surveillance under the EU4Health programme. These Direct Grants builds on the outcomes of the Joint Action UNITED4Surveillance. UNITED4Surveillance (U4S) was invited to present the progress and results of the Joint Action.
Nika Ritsema (RIVM) attended and presented the project on behalf of the U4S consortium, nevertheless multiple U4S Work Package (co-)leads were also present as part of their national Direct Grants. It was a great opportunity to showcase U4S outcomes, and connect with other Direct Grants to explore common challenges, potential synergies, and opportunities to exchange knowledge across countries.
