Annual General Assembly meeting 2024

On 11 and 12 March 2024, Rijksinstituut voor Volksgezondheid en Milieu organised the annual General Assembly meeting of the EU4Health project UNITED4Surveillance in Zandvoort, the Netherlands. Joint Action UNITED4Surveillance aims to strengthen infectious disease surveillance at the EU level by supporting improvements in national surveillance systems. Over 90 public health experts from 23 countries attended the meeting, in person and online.

On 11 March, the progress and (preliminary) results of the project were discussed, and insights and experiences were shared with the consortium. Our European stakeholders – DG Sante, European Health and Digital Executive Agency (HaDEA) and European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC)– also reflected on the project regarding EU policy and challenges within the surveillance landscape. On the second day, 12 March, participants got in-depth information about the piloting plans during the WP2 outbreak detection, WP3 hospital surveillance, and WP4 One Health interactive workshops.
